The first rules offering by Repique Rules in 2010 was Zouave, a corps level wargame covering the American Civil War 1861-1865, The Maximilian Adventure in Mexico 1862-1867, The Austro-Prussian War of 1866, and the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871. It completely sold out its initial printing in six months.

Zouave II is an extensive update of the original incorporating the new Command Rondel tool. It may be played with any scale of figures from 6mm to 28mm. Zouave II captures the high level command capabilities and decisions of all armies of this period, but does not slight the elements of tactical combat, or the pure fun of playing the game.

Zouave II requires only commonly available gaming tools; a deck of cards and some multi-sided dice, and plays quickly enough that a 2-3 corps game of 6-8 divisions - over two dozen regiments or over seventy battalions, and more than twenty batteries a side may be played in less than 4 hours. A typical 8 foot by 4 foot table will serve as a miniature battlefield for 1500 figures or more!

Zouave II uses many new and innovative game mechanics and tools, but actual play is simple and direct. Zouave is best with 2-3 players a side, but can be used for solo with slight adjustments. Explore this site and learn more.
